Summer Fun!

We have done so many fun things this summer and I haven't taken the time to blog them. Now that things are settling down a bit, and Fall is almost in the air, I thought I would try to post about some of the fun we've had. Here's to more summer fun and to a beautiful fall!

The Big Cousins!

It was so fun to have cousins from Nate's side of the family come. Because of the age difference in Nate's siblings, his neice and nephews are much older than any on my side (besides sweet Caroline who sits right inbetween our girls!). They have never taken a long road trip together and decided to make it happen this summer...destination, Greeley, Colorado! We were so excited that they made the trip. We had a great week with them - camping, hiking, swimming, going to a Rockies game, and playing lots of board games. They were a wonderful help around the house and the girls loved having more people to entertain and be entertained by. We love you Luke, Emily, Kyle, and Matt - thank you all so much for coming and spending time in our neck of the woods!

Family Camping trip

We had a really wonderful time camping with the whole family this summer. We went to the Snowy Range in Wyoming - it was absolutely beautiful and we had the best campsites in the campground! We were right by the river and got to enjoy the company of a beaver for the weekend. It was amazing to see him working away on his damn.

On Sunday we had a fun adventure, hiking around a lake and then taking a dip in it. It was WAY too cold for this girl, but I did at least get my feet in! Below are the brave ones that actually got all the way in!

Climb every mountain...

A while back we gave our niece Rachel a "gift certificate" to go on a mountains climb with us. Her birthday is in November so we had to wait until summer, well summer came and I was very pregnant so there was no hike last summer. So, this summer we finally got a good hike in. It was Rachel's first big mountain and we all really enjoyed our time together. She did great although at one point she was pretty sure she wouldn't see the summit. We made it to the top and just like me, she wants more! She has caught the mountain fever!

Rachel and Joshua have always had a very special relationship...they love each other!! Joshua was such a trooper and did great on his first mountain climb also!

The view of The Twin Sister's from Estes Park. We didn't think we would be able to find anything that would wear this girl out, but she was exhausted afterward!

We love you Rach and are so proud of the young woman you are becoming. May Jesus' love and plan for you be the most amazing adventure you have ever been on!

11 Months

We are just a few weeks away from Joshua's 1st birthday so I figured I had better get his 11 month pictures up on the blog! We are definitely in a much better, easier time with Joshua right now. He is sleeping better and more predictably, he is eating pretty much everything (even a few veggies!), he is so active and LOVES being outside. If he is fussy, it is a gaurantee that he will calm down and be happy if we go outside to play. He is saying some words - dog, dad, ball, all done, night-night and he is beginning to stand up without holding on to anything. He loves walking behind his walker toy and climbing into and onto things.

This is a really fun phase we are in and we are all enjoying it. I have even been able to sleep through the night a few nights lately! He has two little teeth poking up - he looks so cute.

Dear Joshua, we know that God has amazing plans for your life. You have a passion about life that I know he has given you for His purposes. May you always know your worth in Him who has made you. You are an amazing little boy whom we love so much. Thank you for blessing our life so much already. Love, Mom
