A way that Nate and I have helped Elizabeth through hard situations is by offering her choices. For example, "You have two choices, you can clean up the mess you made or sit in time out and clean it up afterward." So today at lunch we had this conversation:
Beth "Mom, can we watch a movie while we eat? Yes or No"
Mom "No, not today."
Beth whines a little
Mom gives the look
Beth "You have two choices; loving, takin care of each other, eatin lunch, OR watch a movie. What do you think mom?"
I just had to smile. She has a way and I sure do love her!
